Nathan and William ventured to Minnesota from Denver, Colorado. With family in the area and Colorado not having legal same sex laws passed, I was the lucky planner to work on this wedding. The guys wanted elegance and style with a masculine feel, so the 1920’s speakeasy concept was perfect. The Lowertown Event Center and its reclaimed wood wall, exposed ceilings, and limestone exterior was the perfect backdrop. We adorned the ceremony space with branches, rust colored florals, candles with a center aisle, and semi-circle seating.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the lobby before moving into the main reception room for dinner. Filled with a custom gobo, uplighting, 3 styles of centerpieces, and many different linens, it became the perfect speakeasy setting for Nathan and William.
